Configuring EROL v4 for use with Protx

Open Build Manager and click Basket tab > Payment. There are two email address fields on this tab. The ‘Main Address’ field is the default e-mail address to which all order receipts should be sent. The ‘Optional Address’ field can have second, optional e-mail address recipient entered.

Next, click the ‘Online’ tab. Select ‘Use a Payment Gateway’ and then select ‘Protx’ from the dropdown list. The fields required to setup your Protx account will become active. The active fields are:

Merchant ID [ ]
This will be your account name/number as issued by Protx. (NOTE: This is NOT your Merchant Account number supplied by your Merchant Bank)

Password [ ]
Leave this field blank when requiring Live transactions. For Test mode, the value ‘test’ can be used. See the ‘Testing’ section below.

Success Page [ ]
Set the path to the response page following a successful transaction. Left blank, the default template will be used. See the ‘Erol Templates’ section below.

Failure Page [ ]
Set the path to the response page following a failed transaction. Left blank, the default template will be used. See the ‘Erol Templates’ section below.

Setting up your Protx ID

Before testing, and to enable a secure session to be opened between the EROL and Protx secure servers, you will first need to upload your ‘Protx VendorName’ and ‘Encryption Password’ to the EROL secure server. You can do this securely at:

https://www.securecentral.co.uk/upload-protx.html

and

https://www.securecentral2.co.uk/upload-protx.html

Select whether transactions made through your Protx account will be transacted as:

  • AUTHORISED - automatic authorisation and settlement

  • AUTHENTICATE & AUTHORISE - automatic authorisation with 3D Secure verification

  • DEFERRED - immediate authorisation but deferred settlement (The Deferred method requires vendor intervention in the Protx control panel (VSP Admin) to settle transactions)

Testing

To place test orders through EROL and Protx, enter the value ‘test’ in the Password field on the Checkout > Payment > Online tab. The Protx Support Team provides test credit card numbers to use when testing your installation. To set EROL into Live mode following successful tests, make sure the Password field is left blank and re-Publish to Web.

To set your account to live mode, contact Protx Support.

EROL Templates

To download the EROL v4 templates, please click here

This Templates download includes a folder containing several templates to customise and use with Protx. These templates are optional – the system will work without uploading these templates.

Please ensure that ALL hidden fields already in these pages are NOT deleted or removed.

The folder contains the following files:

web_confirm.html – Displayed if transaction is successful. Browse for and upload this template by clicking Modify > Auto-Upload next to the ‘Success Page’ field on the Checkout > Payment > Online tab.

web_failure.html – Browse for and upload this template by clicking Modify > Auto-Upload next to the ‘Failure Page’ field on the Checkout > Payment > Online tab.

Email Templates:

email_customer.txt – Browse for and upload this template by clicking Modify > Auto-Upload next to the ‘Path to Customer Email Template’ field on the Checkout > Payment > Online tab.

email_vendor.txt – Browse for and upload this template by clicking Modify > Auto-Upload next to the ‘Path to Vendor Email Template’ field on the Checkout > Payment > Online tab.

Switching Servers

Orders placed in the store get routed through a secure server which selects the correct PSP configured in the store. The customer is transparently connected to the correct secure payment page for the PSP.

Very occasionally one of these servers may be unavailable to handle requests. EROL can either be switched to an alternative server or configured to use an installation of the EROL SSDK (Secure Server Development Kit) which can reside on your own server and bypass the EROL servers completely.

For information about the EROL SSDK, contact EROL Sales

To switch servers when using Protx:

1. Click File > Store Properties.

2. In the Secure Servers Options panel, select ‘Change Active Server’ from the dropdown menu.

3. On the following panel, select the server required and Click ‘Next’.

4. Changing Callback URL is automatic when using Protx.

5. Confirm your changes and tick the checkbox ‘Yes, I have changed my Callback URL’.

6. Click Finish. The store will now use the new Active Server
