VSP Form Shopping Cart Integration: Smart Merchant




Smart Merchant is a turn key, e-commerce website solution with a fully featured, integrated shopping cart system. The system includes everything a trader needs to start selling products on line, including the web site hosting.

For design options, site owners are able to choose from a range of pre built, ready to trade templates, create their own graphics, or commission custom designed web site graphics in line with their company's corporate id.

All Smart Merchant web sites are provided fully configured and ready to accept products for sale. The system is completely web based, so no software needs to be installed by the web site owner. Every thing is set up on line by Smart Merchant's technical team.

Adding products and information to the website is carried out using a straight forward, web based 'back office' admin system. The admin system is a combination of simple, web based forms and familiar word processor style page editing tools, which allow even the most inexperienced computer users to take full control of their web site content and begin selling on line.


Configuring Smart Merchant Shopping Cart to use Protx payment processing


Smart Merchant is fully integrated with Protx's VSP form solution. To configure the system, all the site owner needs to do is enter their Protx vendor name and encryption password in the payment options section. The system then allows site owners to change from test mode to live transaction mode by simply by changing the options in a drop down list.

The following text explains the steps required to set up Protx payment processing

Step 1: First, login to the secure customer admin section of your Smart merchant web site





Step 2: In the left hand menu click 'payment options'.





Step 3: On the payment options page, select 'YES' in the 'Use Protx'.





Step 4: Type your Protx vendor name and encryption password in the boxes provided.





Step 5: From the second drop down box choose 'test' for the transaction mode.





Step 6: Click the submit changes button to save the new settings.





That's it. The Smart Merchant web site is now configured to use Protx for customer credit card payments.

When your Protx account is ready to accept live transactions, simply change the mode to live transaction mode.



Providing a custom thank you message


Once the customer has completed the payment transaction through the payment gateway, they will be automatically returned to your website where they can print out a copy of their order. On the return page, you can also provide a custom thank you message. Here's how;

Step 1: In the left hand menu click 'delivery'. Then, when the next page appears click the 'Amend Message' button in the Order Confirmation Page box.





Step 2: Type your message into the box, when you have finished, click the 'amend' button.





That's it. The message will now be displayed on the order confirmation page.
