Step 3. How to complete your testing
Before you can start accepting payments from your customers on the Live Server, you must test your account on the Test Server by completing the stages below:

How to log into VSP Admin for the first time
The first time you log into VSP Admin you need to do so as an Administrator. The Administrator account allows you to create, manage and delete user accounts.
You can access VSP Admin on the Test Server by following this link:
To log in as an Administrator enter the following details:
Vendor Name: Enter your VSP Vendor Name
User Name: Enter your VSP Vendor Name
Password: Enter your VSP Admin password
If you have not already done so you can access these details by following the retrieval web address that is included in your test account email. If you cannot find your retrieval link please email support@protx.com who will be able to provide this information to you. You will need your merchant number registered with Protx to hand.

What if my account gets locked out?
You are allowed a total of 3 attempts to log into VSP Admin before you will be locked out of the account.
If you enter the incorrect information 3 times you will be provided with the following error:
If you have entered incorrect user account details and are locked out of your user account, you will need to log in as the Administrator and unlock the user account in question.
You can unlock the desired user(s) by clicking the
button.
N.B. If you have forgotten your user passwords, you can use the
button and enter a new password.
If you have entered incorrect Administrator details and are locked out of your Administrator account, you will need to contact Protx support to request that they unlock it for you. Email unlock@protx.com making sure that you list your VSP Vendor Name.
This request must come from the primary contact listed on your Protx account.
N.B. If you close your browser without correctly logging out of the system your user account will be frozen for 15 minutes, as our system will still think you are logged in.
To log off you should click the
button in the top left of your VSP Admin screen.
Our system refreshes every 15 minutes, which will clear your session and allow you to log back in again (or the Administrator can unlock the account).

How to create a user on your account
Once you have logged into VSP Admin as an Administrator (see above) you will need to create a new user for yourself. You will be presented with a screen that displays the current users listed on your account.
Click the
button to create a new user and complete the required information:
User Name: Enter a user name of your choice
Password: Enter a password of your choice
Confirm password: Confirm your chosen password
You will also be given the option to choose account privileges and VSP Admin access rights which you can customise for individual users. You can assign full permissions to the user by ticking all the boxes.
When you have entered the required information click on the
button to save the changes. You can now log out of VSP Admin as the Administrator and log back in with your new user account details in order to access your transaction reports:
Vendor Name: Enter your VSP Vendor Name
User Name: Enter the user name that you created
Password: Enter the password that you assigned to that user

How to perform a transaction via your website (VSP Form, Server & Direct users)
Once you have completed your integration with Protx, you need to process a test transaction through your website to check that the integration has worked. To do this you will need to use our test card numbers.

How to perform a transaction through VSP Terminal (VSP Terminal users Only)
To process a test transaction through the VSP Terminal, log into VSP Admin on the Test Server as your newly created user (see above) and select the VSP Terminal. Enter the required details and process a transaction - again you will need to use our test card numbers.

How to perform a refund
Once you have processed a payment you will need to refund it from within your VSP Admin transaction reports. Read further details on how to perform a refund.
N.B. if you are using Deferred payments you must release a test Deferred transaction, and if you are using the payment type, Authenticate, you must Authorise a test Authenticated transaction before you can perform a refund.
